One of the most asked questions around maps is when are they going to be available for non-Nokia devices. Well, Nokia Maps was released as a web app last week, which means that devices with HTML5 browsers can use it!
More precisely, this means that you can have now enjoy Nokia maps on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with iOS4 or Android phones with Android 2.2 and Android 2.3. Simply type maps.nokia.com in your mobile browser and you are into the Nokia Maps page!
As Mark Guim from The Nokia Blog remarks, you can notably see where you are on the map thanks to HTML5 support for positioning. That means you can find addresses, businesses and other places of interest anywhere in the world – and it’s so easy!
Intrigued? Want to know more about all the possibilities that Nokia Maps offer? Check out Mark’s full post and watch a quick demo. Also, as Nokia Maps for the web is a beta, it would be very much appreciated if you could give Nokia some feedback, not forgetting of course to share your thoughts @WOMWorldNokia.
