Chevrolet to Debut Redesigned 2014 Impala, Refreshed 2013 Traverse Crossover [New York Auto Show]

Chevrolet to Debut Redesigned 2014 Impala, Refreshed 2013 Traverse Crossover [New York Auto Show]:
2014 Chevrolet Impala
Chevrolet has announced it is bringing the next-generation 2014 Impala sedan and updated 2013 Traverse to the New York auto show next month, and released a single peek at each car.
The company didn’t offer any specifics on either of the models, but we already know something about the Impala (that’s its C-pillar above) thanks to plenty of spy photos of the big Chevy sedan. For starters, it will share both its so-called Premium Epsilon platform and attendant overhangs with the 2012 Cadillac XTS. The Impala could get GM’s eAssist mild-hybrid system and a turbo four-cylinder as lower-level motivators, while a 3.6-liter V-6 could also be in the mix as an option. Like the Caddy, the Impala will be a front-driver, but all-wheel drive may be available.
2013 Chevrolet Traverse interior
As for the Traverse, Chevy is only refreshing its three-row crossover. (Buick also will be showing off a revitalized 2013 Enclave in New York.) For a good example of what to expect from the 2013 Traverse, look no further than the updated 2013 GMC Acadia, the Traverse’s GMC-badged sibling. That crossover gained higher-class interior trimmings and slightly re-sculpted bodywork. While we doubt the Traverse will resurrect any Saturn Outlook parts, as did the updated Acadia, we’ll have to see it in the Big Apple to be sure. As for the 2013 Traverse’s interior, Chevrolet released a single image depicting the passenger-side dashboard. There’s a two-tone, Malibu-style dash pad with French stitching and a touch screen displaying Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system. This would be the first application of MyLink in the Traverse. From what little we can see, it appears as if the revised accommodations will be a peg or two nicer than the current Traverse’s, and we also know the 2013 model will debut GM’s new front-center airbag.
