Urban Mapping is seeking a seasoned candidate for product management. In this role, you will directly interface with software engineering, marketing, sales and other areas to own components of Mapfluence, our hosted mapping platform. We view product management as a ‘cradle to grave’ role, meaning you will be responsible for birthing, packaging, analyzing, positioning, promoting and tailoring our solutions to all the markets. This role requires a strong level of technical competence. If you are a ‘recovering’ software engineer or have a strong foundation in platform/API-driven businesses, we would like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Lead our internal process to define the product strategy, roadmap and priorities
- Negotiate short- and long-term product priorities
- Define user stories and requirements for new product and data features
- Track product development, and develop product launch plans
- Develop and launch new products
- Become an expert on other products in the marketplace
- Enhance existing products and work with sales and marketing to drive market adoption
- Collaborate with sales and marketing resources to define product rollout
Qualifications
- Min 10 years experience with increasing responsibilities in product management or development of software-based products and services
- BA/BS preferred in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Experience with agile development processes and rapid product release cycles
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities
- Command cross-functional respect as a product leader for the company and strong collaborator with peers
