Zynga’s The Ville comes in at the No. 1 spot on our list of top growing Facebook apps by monthly active users this week. The game’s 2,629 percent gain suggests Zynga recently began an advertising campaign or some other promotion to support the title, which launched in late June.
Titles on our list gained the most MAU of any apps on the platform, growing from between 500,000 and 15.51 million MAU, based on our AppData tracking service.
Top Gainers This Week
|
Many of this week’s gainers were games and page tab applications, which for a while had been making fewer appearances in the top 20 gainers with the rise of Open Graph-enabled apps. Now page apps from Wooga are experiencing a resurgence, and some Open Graph apps are growing less rapidly than when they first launched.
Open Graph apps that made the list this week include No. 7 Instagram, No. 8 Spotify, No. 10 Yahoo! Social Bar, No. 11 Zoosk and No. 16 Glassdoor. Some games like The Ville and No. 3 SongPop also use Open Graph to publish custom stories to players’ Timelines.
No. 5 Voxer is a mobile walkie-talkie app that gained Facebook-connected users this week after recently releasing an update to the Apple App Store and Google Play.
All data in this post comes from our traffic tracking service, AppData. Stay tuned for our look at the top weekly gainers by daily active users on Thursday, and the top emerging apps on Friday.
