Windows App Boss: uninstall apps from the desktop in Windows 8

Windows App Boss: uninstall apps from the desktop in Windows 8:
If you are using Windows 8 or have tested it for some time you have probably tested a few Windows Store apps to get a feel for what they have to offer in comparison to desktop programs. One of the things that you may have noticed is that the uninstallation of apps installed from the store is less than ideal. It seems that the only way to uninstall apps in Windows 8 is to right-click a single app on the start screen and select the uninstall link that opens up in the bottom toolbar.
Imagine having to uninstall dozens of apps that you do not want to use any longer on your system. Not only do you have to select each app individually, right-click afterwards to display and select the uninstall option, you may also need to scroll around on the screen to find those apps depending on how many you have installed. The remove programs feature that you find on the desktop does not list apps at all, and third party programs like Revo Uninstaller do not either.
Windows App Boss is a free program for the Windows 8 desktop that you can use to uninstall apps right from the desktop, among other things. When you start the program a list of all installed Windows 8 apps is presented to you in the program window.

To uninstall an app, select it first and then click on the uninstall button to remove it from your system. While it is not as comfortable as it can be, considering that you still do not have an option to uninstall multiple apps in one go and that you do not have a search to find an app faster if you have installed many on your system, it still improves the uninstallation of apps on the system thanks to its compact display.
The program has been designed with Windows Store developers in mind, which may explain the absence of a batch uninstallation feature or search.  The program has more to offer than the uninstallation of apps though. You can use it for the following purposes as well:
  • Add and register signed apps
  • Manage app snapshots
  • Add, remove and update the Windows Developer License
  • View Windows app settings in a plain text file.
  • View preload files (custom.data)
  • Enable or disable app sideloading
  • Launch all apps installed on the system.
The program does not have to be installed but is a .Net application so keep that in mind. It won't run on Windows RT systems either.
