Teased: Honda confirms Civic Wagon for Europe:

Honda CEO Takanobu Ito already confirmed that the Civic Type R will be making a return in 2015, and today at the Paris Motor Show, Honda's European president, Manabu Nishimae, announced another new Civic variant is being added into the mix with a new wagon-style model. Throughout the press release, Honda puts quotation marks over the word wagon, but based on the design sketch, it will indeed have more of a station wagon look to it compared to the current Euro-spec Civic hatchback.



Just going off what we can see in Honda's teaser image, the biggest change appears to be the longer, flatter roofline and the more upright D-pillar. Most of the sketch matches up with the current Civic on sale in Europe from the short, sloped hood to the hidden rear door handles, but behind the rear doors is where all the changes will be made. Honda says this sketch is a glimpse at a concept car that we will be seeing at some point next year.



The Civic hasn't offered a station wagon body style in the U.S. since its fourth generation (1987 through 1991 model years), but just like the Type R, the Civic Wagon will be a Europe-only affair.
