We already know that the 640-hp 2013 SRT Viper will start at $99,390 and command $122,390 in GTS guise (pending gas-guzzler charges), but what if you want some extra sauce on your serpent? SRT has now released the options list for the new Viper, so prospective buyers can smother away.
The no-cost paint choices are red, black, or white, while slathering on yellow, blue, dark blue, or gunmetal gray costs a grand. A special paint called “Stryker Red”—Stryker is the name of the Viper’s latest logo—is exclusive to the GTS, although its cost has yet to be disclosed. Black, silver, or gunmetal stripes can be added to the base car for $4500, or to the GTS for $5000. White stripes are only available on the Viper GTS Launch Edition, and we’re happy to hear that Jack and Meg have reunited.
There are three wheels available on the Viper—the five-spoke base design, the six-spokers fitted to the GTS, and another design exclusive to the Track package—and they can be finished polished, black, or matte black for prices ranging from $500 to $1100. (The Track wheels can’t be had with the polished finish.)
A nine-speaker audio system comes standard in the basic car, but it can be upgraded to the GTS’s 12-speaker system for $1995 or an 18-speaker Harman/Kardon setup for $2995 (the latter adds $1000 to the GTS.) Sabelt-supplied seats are very nice and very standard, and they’re upgraded from cloth to leather and faux suede in the GTS. The hide upholstery—but not matching door and interior trim, those are GTS-only—is a $3000 extra for base-car buyers.
In our first drive of the new Viper, we opined that all examples would benefit from the $3500 Track package, which brings better brakes, lightweight wheels, stickier tires, and shaves 57 pounds.
The Grand Touring package is standard on the GTS but runs $2500 on the regular Viper; tick this box to receive an upgraded infotainment system, Bluetooth compatibility, satellite and HD radio, a backup camera, and cup holders in return. The $7500 Laguna Interior Package is a GTS exclusive, and wraps the entire interior in either black or sepia leather and adds a faux suede headliner.

Finally, the coolest package is that Launch Edition we mentioned earlier, because it resurrects the classic Viper blue-and-white-stripes color scheme. Beyond its exterior hues, though, it also includes the 18-speaker sound system, Laguna Interior Package, a set of polished five-spoke wheels, and a sequentially numbered dash plaque. We’d call that $15,500 well spent, considering the Launch car’s near lock on collectable status.
All told, the option pricing seems pretty reasonable for a car that starts near $100K. Now if you’ll excuse us, we need to start rifling through a few sofas—the order books open in November.
