The iPhone 5 may go on sale in China sooner rather than later, as news arrives that the device has reportedly been given a key certification by Chinese authorities. If true, this marks a much quicker approval than previous iPhones, and it means that Chinese users could all-too-soon join their international counterparts in complaining about easily scratched phones.

Speaking of China, a court in the country has ruled that Apple owes more than $82,000 to the Encyclopedia of China Publishing House. The reason? Third party apps appearing on the App Store which contain unauthorized digital copies of the publisher’s encyclopedia. And they say nobody reads encyclopedias anymore.
