It's easy to see why it's an attention grabber. Using touch points (it recognizes many finger tips at once), you can interact with a model on a screen. It's like an tablet -- just way bigger. Also, you can mark up the design with handwriting (done with a stylus). It's so ... natural. In fact, to go back to powering a projector from your computer seems suddenly quite archaic. Just forget the whiteboard. Use this to dazzle at your next design review. Such impressive display technology will surely draw attention away from your project being behind schedule and over budget.
Design reviews are exactly what Microsoft intends for its PPI, as the device is called.
But how much is this thing? I have to rudely inquire. There is no price tag. The website is of no help.
My $20,000 guess sends the Microsoft representative into a paroxysm of laughter. I suspect it's somewhere between the cost of a Surface Pro (their upscale tablet) and Steve Ballmer's yacht.
