On the software front, the Kindle Fire OS has retooled its email application and gives access to more multimedia, such as audiobooks. Its 7" and 8.9" form factors will make it easy on the hands to hold and use.
Apple’s iPad continues to be the most commercially successful device, but that success has encouraged more competition from other device makers. There are now many competitor tablets to choose from, with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google vying for some of Apple's territory. But as consumers have started demanding more tablets, there are also new form factors and user experiences to choose from.
The Surface’s keyboard cover may provide a new experience for those looking to type on actual hardware.
