ICANN to Hold Public Meeting in Durban, South Africa in July 2013:

ICANN's Board of Directors approved Durban, South Africa, as the location for ICANN's 47^th Public Meeting to be held 14-19 July 2013.
Three times a year, ICANN hosts a meeting in a different geographic region of the world. The .ZA Domain Name Authority submitted the proposal to host ICANN 47 in South Africa, in response to a call for location recommendations posted on 25 April 2011. Various parties sent a proposal to ICANN, and staff evaluated each, ultimately making the recommendation for South Africa.
