Which version of the V69ME tube mic do YOU have?

Which version of the V69ME tube mic do YOU have?: "
I have two MXL V69ME tube microphones. We all know the V69ME gets a lot of love around here. SO....I decided to take a look at swapping out the MXL Chinese tubes for some NOS Mullards or so I thought... Imagine my surprise when I opened them up only to find they are about as DIFFERENT inside as you can get. One has a tube mounted right side up in a separate tube socket, and one has the tube upside down on a PCB tube socket. One has full length circuit boards, and one shorties. The component count on the boards also looks to be totally different... I wonder what the history of these changes are? I have heard about early runs of this mic where the tube was soldered in, but that was long ago. I have never heard about entirely different circuit boards and packaging! Also, one body has the "R" (for registered trademark) engraved over the MXL logo on the body, and one does not.

Does anyone have a clue what the history of these changes are? Which is newest, oldest, best??? Better take a look and see what you've got! Maybe there are MORE versions?

Here are front and back photos of each of them. The first two I call version one, and the second two are version two for lack of any better terms. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. >>
