I am sure most of you remember OWI’s award winning Salt Water Fuel Cell Car. Well I have to tell you that the second generation of this awesome technology appears to be that much cooler, unless your afraid of spiders! The Salt Water Fuel Cell Giant Arachnoid Kit gives once again gives our kids the opportunity to learn about new forms of clean energy, and they get to build and power their very own toy and then feed it some saltwater and watch it scurry away! *shudder*
This environmentally friendly concept seems to steer us in the right direction. Everyday our kids are learning about ways to help protect our Earth and keep our world clean. This nifty little guy demonstrates to our kids a much more effective utilization of our natural resources and its fun at the same time. Can’t go wrong there.
Anyway, almost all kids love a little creepiness and our eight-legged friend here certainly has ample “let’s scare mom” factor. After assembling and activating the fuel cell module with a saltwater mixture, the magnesium metal sheet (3 sheets included) will operate the Spider for up to 7 hours. If having a giant spider crawling around your living room ceases to be appealing, one needs to simply take out the fuel cell module and rinse with tap water and dry, no insecticides required.
The manufacturer tells us that all the materials used in this kit are environmentally safe and clean, non-toxic and carry no disposal concerns. It will not produce heat, so it is completely safe for child’s play. Available now for pre-order at owirobot.com for well under 20 bucks.

Withings has finally rolled out their Smart Baby Monitor, where it will merge world-class technology alongside sophisticated design in order for parents to be able to monitor, interact and communicate with their precious bundle of joy regardless of where they are in the world at the moment. Granted, the Smart Baby Monitor from Withings, the France-based company, is not exactly the most sought after item on the consumer electronics market, but that does not mean it is not essential to any modern household.
Canon is at the forefront of DSLR technology yet again with their latest model, the EOS 5D Mark III. It might not be the highest end model in the market, but that does not mean it is a slouch in terms of performance – I do not think a company like Canon that has so much riding on their name would settle for something sub-par, do you? Anyways, back to the main topic – the Canon EOS 5D Mark III will be placed in between the extremely popular EOS 5D Mark II as well as Canon’s top end model, the venerable EOS-1D X.
Skype – now this is one VoIP service that has attracted millions upon millions of users, where the most recent milestone included breaking the 34 million users on Skype – simultaneously. Over the years, smart TVs have made their way into the market, with some of them sporting Skype functionality. Vizio wants to jump aboard the smart TV bandwagaon as well, where their latest Vizio Internet App TVs will feature Skype pre-loaded.
Like father, like son, or so the saying goes. Most young parents would have most probably gone through this particular conversation with their little ones – as to why daddy and/or mummy can carry an iPad and an iPhone, but little Jeremy cannot. The reason is simple – how can a little kid know about good stewardship? Surely there will be mistakes along the way, and replacing a broken iPad is definitely an expensive mistake to make. Not only that, most tablets do come with adult-centric apps (obviously), with very little (or no) attention being paid to apps and programs that appeal to kids.
Tablets are dime a dozen these days, and with the iPad 3 being prepared to roll out this coming March 7th in San Francisco, you know for sure that there will definitely be queues when the time comes for the iPad 3 to be released to the masses. After all, it is the next best thing since sliced bread (or at least that is what a $500 billion company wants you to believe), but spare a thought for tablets of a different variety – now I do not mean those from the Android-powered camp, but rather, a digitizer tablet.
Here is a way to play the piano like a boss – the Japanese way, of course. After all, who wants to lug around a really huge and heavy piano, and a keyboard is a poor substitute when it comes to the actual warm sound of a piano? Enter the
