At next week’s SEMA show, Ford will officially unveil a new ’65 Mustang convertible body shell that ought to make restoring the most iconic Mustang in history a heck of a lot easier—that is if your idea of restoration includes replacing all of the sheetmetal. Teased in a video a couple of weeks ago, Ford’s new old car body will be offered in convertible form only and features stronger steel and better welding techniques than the original. No word on whether Ford will eventually offer hardtop variants of the same vintage. The ’65 Mustang convertible shell (which can also imitate a 1964 ½ or a 1966 with the right accessories) is offered through Dynacom Classic Bodies with prices starting at $15,000.
