Resurrection: HP's new Mobility division to handle consumer tablets:

Hewlett-Packard has created a new Mobility business unit that will be responsible for handling consumer tablets, The Verge reported Friday. Alberto Torres, formerly head of MeeGo operations at Nokia, will be running the Mobility unit as part of the company's Printing and Personal Systems Group.
The Mobility unit rises from the ashes of the PC division that Leo Apotheker, then-CEO of HP, set aflame just a day shy of a year ago today. The dissolving of the PC division followed the lackluster release of the HP TouchPad, which was met with a resounding "it's okay, we guess," by reviewers and customers.
Three months later, Apotheker had left HP, and the new CEO Meg Whitman announced that HP would not shed its PC group after all. The TouchPad and Pre phones remained discontinued, but the TouchPad enjoyed a brief afterlife as a very popular fire sale item.
