VistaQuest VQ10 disposable digital camera review

VistaQuest VQ10 disposable digital camera review:

Disposable cameras took a bit of a hit with the onset of digital and the rise of the cameraphone, but the VQ10 from US firm VistaQuest is a disposable digital camera designed to go places where you wouldn't bring a "proper" camera, or indeed your phone.
It's on sale for about $20—but is it worth the outlay?

Design

For a disposable camera it's a wee bit bulky at 112×66×27mm and 130g, incorporating a USB plug on a tiny cable which slots into the bottom. Operation is pretty much idiot proof. There's a little plastic tab slotted into the side which you pull out to activate the battery and you've then got 90 days' worth of snapping. It will shut down automatically to save power if you don't use it for a couple of minutes, and just takes a quick press on the large power button on the back to boot up again. There are no controls to mess with and no options for adjustment—this is strictly point and shoot, with fixed focus, no flash, and a big, clicky shutter button on top.
