The Apocalypse Trigger - The Gamification of the Autodesk Software Trial Experience

The Apocalypse Trigger - The Gamification of the Autodesk Software Trial Experience:
The Apocalypse Trigger
The Video Trailer on YouTube here.
Awhile back Autodesk got some great feedback and an award with a new method to get people to try a new software trial version of 3ds Max much more deeply than they might have just testing on their own. With some structured exercises you can see more of the value and features of the software than just poking around on your own. Make it a game and it becomes fun as well as a learning and exploring experience.
Now with the launch of the Autodesk product suites where multiple Autodesk products are bundled together it is even more important to get people deeper into the benefits of the software. And so we have the gamified trial experience where you take on missions to score points and in the process learn more about the different software contained in the AutoCAD Design Suite and their features.

The fate of the world rests in your hands. Fortunately AutoCAD Design Suite Standard software is at your fingertips.
Hundreds of years ago, the precious gems of the B’Alam Stone were looted from the Mayan Temple of Tikal, setting in motion the gears of a global catastrophe. Beneath the temple, the earth has begun to rumble. Around the world, long dormant volcanoes are smoldering, threatening to erupt in a hail of fire and ash. You must find the gems, replace them in the stone and return them to the temple before it’s too late.
In your race to find the gems, you’ll travel to different locations across the Americas, solving clues, racking up points and ultimately accomplishing your mission to save the planet.
Along the way you’ll get hands-on experience with one of the most powerful set of design applications in the world. Sketch, draw, render, model and translate mission clues into your chance to win the AutoCAD Dream Setup which includes a standalone license** to AutoCAD Design Suite Standard 2013, a Lenovo S30 workstation and an iPad® worth over $6,500+.
The suite includes AutoCAD®, AutoCAD® Raster Design, Autodesk® Sketchbook® Designer, Autodesk® Showcase® and Autodesk® Mudbox®—everything you need to create and sketch extraordinary designs, capture design information from almost any source, connect and collaborate, and showcase your finished work.

Get Started:
Create LoginYou will need to create a new login for this game as it is not tied to the Autodesk single sign on system. The game does not end on December 21st like some are trying to convince us the world will end based on the Mayan calendar, although ending the contest the day before would have some humor to it. Prizes are only for the US thanks to those pesky, yet necessary lawyers.
Mission Starter FilesGive this a try as I am sure you will find things you did not know were in the products contained in the suite and have fun as I did. Go get your score by downloading the AutoCAD Design Suite trial and the mission starter files.
From the first mission to the last, I think you will have some real fun in the adventure through the missions.
First Mission Last Mission
So whose up for saving the world while competing for the points and prize? Go log your score by downloading the AutoCAD Design Suite trial and the mission files.
Cheers & Happy Adventuring,
Shaan
