Dear Wooster Fans:
As Sara and I pack up our home in New York to move a back into Soho, we realized that over the years we've saved, collected, and put into storage, boxes and boxes of multiples of amazing limited edition books, original artworks that we bought at various galleries, and a ton of fascinating ephemera. Ever since we became involved in street fifteen years ago, we've saved everything.
The reality is that we now have way too much art to ever be able to hang on our walls, and far too many boxes of amazing stuff that would sit unappreciated in storage for years.
And at the same time we also want to do something to help raise money and keep the focus on the dire situation that exists for tens of thousands of people in our community who's lives were devistated by Hurricane Sandy.
So on Friday evening November 16th and Saturday November 17th, we've decided to hold a "Wooster Collective Yard Sale and Book Launch" in Lower Manhattan. We'll be selling a lot of our multuples and some of our original artwork with a portion of the proceeds going to various Hurricane Relief funds efforts. We won't be giving the money to large organizations like the Red Cross. Rather we will be giving it to local people who have been on the front lines since the lights went out. In this way we will know that the money is going where it should.
So if you're in New York, come join us on Nov 16th and 17th. It will be part yard sale, part party, part book launch, and most of all, a benefit for those in need in New York and New Jersey. We can guarentee that it will be a fantastic opportunity to add some things to your own collection and perhaps purchase some early Holiday gifts.
