Honda revealed two accessory packages for the new-for-2013 Accord: the Honda Factory Performance (HFP) package and the X package. Neither package will offer any improvements to the Accord when it comes to beating the likes of Paul Walker from stoplight to stoplight, but at least they look sporty enough to have a chance. Oh, and the HFP package actually gets a suspension tweak. Set to go on sale next spring, the HFP package includes 19-inch aluminum wheels; that sport suspension we mentioned (which lowers ride height by 0.6 inch and Honda claims improves handling); front, side, and rear underbody spoilers; a decklid spoiler; red interior illumination; HFP-specific floor mats; and HFP badges applied to rocker panels and the trunk. According to Honda, just 500 examples of this HFP package will be sold for the 2013 Accord, so buyers are guaranteed at least exclusivity. The package comes with a three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty and will cost $4650. Installation, as with everything in world of custom, is extra.

The X package from Honda Genuine Accessories manages to put a little zing in the Accord’s commute without being mistaken for an extra from The Fast and the Furious. The price of admission is $2071—plus, of course, the cost of installation. The X package is comprised of front, side, and rear underbody spoilers; a sport grille; and your choice of a decklid spoiler or, for another $100, a rear wing. We’re pretty certain Vin Diesel would never drive such conservative cars in his films, and that’s as strong of an endorsement as we can give these two accessory packages.
