Google reminds us we should be “Thankful” for it

Google reminds us we should be “Thankful” for it:
It’s Thanksgiving day in the United States and, like countless other holidays and special occasions, Google has posted one of their now famous Doodles to their search page. However, in this case the company has done a bit more by posting a complete guide to show how the search giant can help you out with every aspect of your holiday.
For Thanksgiving, Google posted a complete guide that depicts how it’s services can help you get through this hectic day from morning through evening.
The guide begins with telling us how to connect with friends and family who are far away — naturally the company’s suggestion is to set up a Google+ Hangout so you can see and talk to your loved ones.
Thanksgiving is the number one travel holiday in the United States and Google would like to remind you of  it’s airline services that can provide flight information right down to terminal and gate numbers. “Get in and get out fast with real time flight updates. Just type “airline + flight number” in the search box to get your departure and arrival times”

This holiday is all about the big meal and the guide contains links to “search recipes” to find that perfect one to set your food apart from the pack and even to watch first-hand videos of how it is made on YouTube. You can even get live online cooking lessons via Google+ Hangouts.
It is also a big football (American style) day and Google provides real time scores and stats via search, plus highlights and team information through YouTube.
Thanksgiving is, of course, followed by Black Friday — the number one shopping day of the year. With that in mind, Google provides thousands of indoor maps for shopping malls all over the world. Indoor maps are also available for airports and museums as well.
Of course, all of this information is helpful for every day and not just on this particular one.
Perhaps today should be a day to turn off the computer and concentrate on friends, family and, of course, food and football. But, in today’s world can we still do that?
