Video: SGI’s Big Brain Supercomputer

Video: SGI’s Big Brain Supercomputer:
Bill Mannel from SGI, which specializes in developing high performance computing technology for the big data, scientific and engineering fields, discusses the SGI’s new “Big Brain” supercomputer (technically named the SGI Altix UV 2). The Big Brain is the next-generation shared memory platform that uses the Sandy Bridge cluster solution. Mannel said the supercomputer can have up to 11 Teraflops per rack. See Data Center Knowledge’s coverage of the Big Brain’s release, Hawking is First User of SGI Big Brain. In this video from ISC’12 held recently in Hamburg, Mannel discusses the UV2 with Rich Brueckner from InsideHPC. The video runs 6:26. Enjoy!
