Reputation.com’s Colorful Redwood City Office

Reputation.com’s Colorful Redwood City Office:
Online reputation management company Reputation.com recently moved into its new Redwood City Headquarters. The new office was designed by Studio O+A (archive here).
The designers note that inspiration came “from the laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey where Thomas Edison invented the phonograph and the light bulb.  A prototype for the modern Research and Development facility, Edison’s workshop combined the stark infrastructures of nineteenth century science with traditional wooden construction and wood furniture of the period.”
Using industrial materials like uni-strut, cast iron, and reclaimed wood combined with exposed ceilings, cork boards, and white board panels, the environment has an energetic and scientific feel.
As in many O+A projects, vibrant colors are used throughout the project which bring playfulness and contrasts into the office. Bright colors echoing Caribbean market style was used to dress up some smaller conference rooms.
The office has a number of casual spaces to mingle and collaborate including several bar-height tables, a kitchen with both booths and tables, and a comfortable couch space with space to brainstorm. O+A explains adds that “Cork board and white board panels, for example, make all areas of the office conducive to calculation, formula development—and spontaneous birthday greetings”.
