When the Nokia 808 Pureview was released, it introduced Rich Recording technology. In simpler words, high quality audio recording especially at loud environments. SlashGear was first to post the possibility of Rich Recording on the new Nokia Lumia 920, but there’s a catch.
Here’s a quick reminder of Rich Recording on the Nokia 808 Pureview.

Nokia’s Imaging head, Damian Dinning, explained on Twitter that while the mics and High Amplitude Audio Capture (HAAC) technology are the same on the Nokia Lumia 920 as the Nokia 808 Pureview, the only difference is mono.
@kopte3 the only difference is mono, the HAAC capability and mic is the same as in the #808This means the Nokia Lumia 920 can record audio without the distortion commonly heard on most camera phones at loud environments, but it won’t be stereo sound like the Nokia 808 PureView. Perhaps this is the reason why Nokia did not mention “Rich Recording” in any of the marketing materials.
