Managing with Deliverables vs. Activities

Managing with Deliverables vs. Activities: Summary: There are two options for managing a project team. The easiest choice is to manage with activities; like “clean up the file room.” The more difficult way is to manage with deliverable metrics. These are end-results defined in measurable terms like “98% of the files on the shelves in alphabetical order.” The second approach is always better because you specify exactly what you want. That’s the key to consistent project success.
