SuperAntiSpyware Trojan.Agent/Gen-Kryptik false positives

SuperAntiSpyware Trojan.Agent/Gen-Kryptik false positives:
If you are running the popular security program SuperAntiSpyware on your PC system you may have received a notification by the program in the last two hours or so that malicious files have been identified on the computer. The files are reported as Trojan.Agent/Gen-Kryptic, and when you look up the file names and paths you will notice that many regular programs are identified as being infected with malware. This included on a test system components of the popular Office suite Libre Office, RSSOwl, MSI Afterburner, CCleaner files and even SuperAntiSpyware components.

When you scan your computer with other up to date malware, like Malwarebytes Antimalware, Dr. Web Scan It or Microsoft’s Security Essentials, you will notice that the scan will come up empty. Even a scan on Virustotal does not return a single trace of malware.
This suggests that the findings are false positives caused by today’s update of the software.  There is already a thread on the official SuperAntiSpyware forum where users of the program report that they are experiencing the same issue. The problem can not only be linked to the paid version of the program, but is also a issue in the free version. The realtime protection of SuperAntiSpyware Pro may however report the false positives as malware without the user’s doing, while free version users will only come into contact with the false positives when they scan their system with the program.
An update is now being distributed by the developers of the software that fixes the issue. To apply the update click on the check for updates button in the main program window and wait until it has been downloaded and installed. When you now scan your system again you will notice that SuperAntiSpyware won’t identify those files as infected with the trojan anymore.
So, do not clean the files from your PC if they are reported as Trojan.Agent/Gen-Kryptik, but update your version of SuperAntiSpyware first to see if the update does away with the program’s findings.
