At GeekDad we are big fans of apps that actually use mobile devices in innovative ways to support children’s learning. Motion Math Games are one of those developers who have led the way in thinking about how they can design digital learning environments that provide ways for children to learn math with their hands and minds. Their first fraction/decimals app called Motion Math has become one of the benchmarks against which others should be comparing themselves.
Several of the Motion Math Games are free, and offer In-App content packs for parents or teachers to purchase that match children’s abilities and knowledge. However, they have recently announced an innovation in the purchasing side of things. Motion Math now offer a “pro suite”. The details of the announcement and links to the games are below.

- Motion Math: Hungry Fish Pro, a fun game for mastering mental addition and subtraction.
- Motion Math: Wings Pro, a flying adventure with six representations of multiplication.
- Motion Math: Zoom Pro, the world’s most interactive number line.
- Motion Math HD, our estimation game with five forms of fractions. A rigorous efficacy study – the first done on an iPad educational app – found the game improved test scores 15% and attitudes towards fractions by 10%.
