The day began with a plea for litigation peace: The judge overseeing the Apple v. Samsung patent trial asked the companies' respective CEOs to get on the phone and try to work out a settlement one last time before the case goes to the jury.
"I see risk here for both sides," said US District Judge Lucy Koh. "I think it's at least worth one more chance. If what you all had wanted is to raise awareness that you have IP on these devices, message delivered... It's time for peace."
Both sides agreed to talk. Minutes later, however, lawyers for the two companies were at war again; slogging through another stressful, grueling day of legal battles.
