Mazda Sharing Next-Gen Miata Architecture with Alfa Romeo:
Headlining today’s Out of Left Field News is an announcement from Mazda and Fiat that the two companies will collaborate on the development and manufacture of a small rear-drive roadster. Yes, that rear-drive roadster: The plan has Mazda’s next-gen Miata serving as the basis for a future Alfa Romeo roadster due in 2015. (The next Miata is expected to go on sale by mid-2014.) Of course, the two cars will be brand-specific and get unique styling and engines. Good thing, too, because we aren’t sure how to say “Skyactiv” in Italian. Read full story »
