- maintains & updates GIS tax parcels (Land Records Mapping)
- creates & maintains GIS database layers; produces maps for assistance in planning presentations; reviews requests for special maps & data layers; estimates time of competion & produces more technical maps & analyses to support Planning Board review of development; produces maps for use by departments, outside agencies & the public; produces customized maps as requested to meet needs.
- creates layers of information within the GIS sytem; maintains & archives GIS data; obtains, analyzes, queries & reviews GIS information; rectifies descrepancies & provides quality control of data in the GIS sytem.
- conducts GIS operating system maintenance, makes changes to system parameters, & performs upgrades & data backups.
- assists in the evaluation of hardware & software for the department & recommends additional hardware, software & digital map layers as needed; collects budgetary information on technology upgrades.
- conducts research on topics & issues as assigned utilizing a variety of research methods; collects data, statistics & information through reviewing reports, articles & other sources; assembles, analyzes & summarizes data in reports.
- interprets, applies & explaines ordinances to the public; works with property owners & developers to comply with the local rules & regulations
